USDA Declared the Eradication of the Pink Bollworm.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture declared the eradication of the pink bollworm after 100 years. This pest cost U.S. producers tens of millions of dollars in yearly control costs and yield losses. Arizona University of Arizona entomologists and extension specialists have played a role for more than 20 years in this success story.
