Arizona Agriculture is Growing

The current $23.3 billion impact Agriculture provides to Arizona’s economy is growing. The overriding perception is Arizona is an arid state, made up mostly of deserts.  Arizona has several ecosystems.  The weather and soil in some areas allow farmers to grow several different crops on the same land during a year.

The fastest growing industries are currently nuts, specifically pecans, and the wine industry.

The Arizona Department of Agriculture works to support and promote Arizona agriculture in a way that encourages farming, ranching, and agribusiness, protects the well-being of people, plants, animals and the environment while safeguarding commerce, consumers and natural resources.
